The Piula Theological College community is celebrating the successful renovation of the Peter Turner Library, a key academic resource that continues to support the formation of future church leaders.
The upgraded library now provides a more modern, comfortable, and resource-rich environment for students, lecturers, and researchers. Renovations included improved study spaces, updated shelving, better lighting, and the introduction of digital learning facilities to enhance research and academic work.
College leadership highlighted that the renovation reflects a strong commitment to academic excellence and theological education. The Peter Turner Library has long been a central place for study and reflection, and the improvements aim to strengthen both intellectual growth and spiritual development.
โThis renovation is not just about the building,โ a college representative said. โIt is about investing in our students and ensuring they have access to quality resources that support their calling and ministry.โ
Students have welcomed the changes, expressing appreciation for the improved learning environment. Many noted that the upgraded facilities provide a quieter and more organized space for reading, research, and preparation for ministry.
The renovation also includes plans for expanding the libraryโs collection, particularly in theology, biblical studies, and Pacific contextual theology. This will help ensure that students engage with both global scholarship and local perspectives relevant to Samoa and the wider Pacific region.
Faculty members emphasized that the renewed Peter Turner Library will play a vital role in supporting the collegeโs curriculum and academic standards, especially as theological education continues to adapt to modern challenges.
The project stands as a testament to the ongoing development of Piula Theological College, reinforcing its mission to equip students with knowledge, faith, and leadership skills for service in the church and society.
As the doors reopen, the renovated library is expected to become a vibrant hub of learning, reflection, and community life for years to come.
